Earth's Ballerina: A Haiku

Photo of a light purple with yellow iris flower. Tall, narrow, green leaves, a light yellow building , and a cloudy sky are behind it. A haiku about the iris is typed over the photo.

Inspiration

Picture book author, Angela Burke Kunkel (@angkunkel), posted a photo of a gorgeous bearded iris on her Instagram page. The moment I saw it, my haiku started forming. I am grateful to Angela for the inspiration and giving me permission to include her photo with my haiku!

I love that my husband was involved in writing this haiku. I asked him for help finding a word to describe a certain part. I loved his suggestion and used it!

Side note…have you checked out Angela’s books? Are you following her on Instagram?
